Ghana university lecturers attend solar training course
The teacher becomes the student
GREEN Solar Academy Accra recently hosted lecturers from Ghana’s Takoradi Technical University – and the lecturers were there to learn about solar energy from the leaders in solar training in Africa.
The lecturers were at the academy to complete the SuperSolarSchool training course, and afterwards, to attend a two-week Training of Trainers programme, where they were schooled in how to pass that information on to others.
The SuperSolarSchool is the training course of choice for solar entrepreneurs all over Africa; it offers a solid mix of theory and practical modules, taught by experienced industry players who run their own successful solar installation companies, and was the ideal vehicle to convey the knowledge of all things solar to the lecturers.

Takoradi Technical University is to start offering solar training based on GREEN Solar Academy’s curriculum to engineering graduates in the region. University lecturers who will give the training at the university not only need to know what to teach, but also what methods work best when teaching it.
Peter Pretorius, a GREEN Solar Academy South Africa trainer, travelled to Ghana to advise on the setup of the training centre at the university, as well as to present some of the modules alongside his colleague Dennis Wiredu Asare from GREEN Solar Academy Ghana.
The 5-Day SuperSolarSchool is a professional, practical, foundational course in solar energy that has been the starting point for more 3 200 solar installers in Africa.
GREEN Solar Academy Accra has a SuperSolarSchool scheduled from 11 to 15 October 2021. To celebrate Women’s Month, all women who book and pay for this course during August 2021 receive an incredible 30% Discount. AND if a man and a woman book the course together, they each receive a 30% Discount!
