GREEN PV Mounter Exam

Demonstrate your competence and earn your first certificate. This online exam is the last step in completing the GREEN PV Mounter certification.

The GREEN PV Mounter Exam is available for learners who have completed our Beginner Pathway and did theoretical and practical solar training. We evaluate your basic knowledge and practical understanding expected of professional residential PV installers in a set of multiple choice questions.

The exam reflects real-world practice and is completed as an open-book assessment. Participants may consult course notes, standards, manufacturer documentation and other technical resources while completing the exam. The pass rate is 50%.

The GREEN Solar Mounter Exam is intended for participants who have completed the PV Mounter course and a basic theoretical course (e.g. Solar 101 or our PV Off-Grid Technician eLearning). It is ideal for:

• Entry-level solar installers seeking recognised first certification
• Installation companies wanting to certify their installation teams
• Anyone building a career in residential PV installation

The exam assesses your understanding of:

• PV module handling and installation
• Roof mounting systems and module layout
• Site safety and installation best practice
• DC cabling and Balance of System (BOS) components
• Basic system schematics
• Material calculations
• Residential PV installation principles

Participants must have completed theoretical and practical training

• The 2-day PV Mounter and 2-day Solar 101 or Principles of PV Systems / PV Off-Grid Technician eLearning
• OR SuperSolarSchool

Successful candidates receive a Certificate of Achievement jointly issued by GREEN Solar Academy and the German Solar Energy Society (DGS e.V.), certifying them as GREEN Certified PV Mounters. The pass rate is 50%.
