GREEN C&I PV Designer Exam

Commercial and industrial PV projects demand a different level of technical competence than residential ones. Even if the basics are the same, they are much more complex and require additional skills, especially regarding design and feasibility calculations.

The GREEN C&I PV Designer Exam is the first certification of its kind to focus specifically on the knowledge and competencies required to design commercial and industrial PV systems. It is the natural next step for experienced solar professionals - and particularly for SAPVIA PV GreenCard Installers - who want to validate their expertise and distinguish themselves in the growing C&I market.

Available to participants who have completed the 3-day Commercial PV Design course, this online, on-demand assessment evaluates your ability to apply commercial PV design principles to real-world projects.

Successful candidates receive a Certificate of Achievement jointly issued by GREEN Solar Academy and the German Solar Energy Society (DGS e.V.), recognising them as GREEN Certified C&I PV Designers. The pass rate is 75%.

The GREEN C&I PV Designer Exam is intended for participants who have completed the Commercial PV Design course and wish to validate their design competence. It is ideal for:

• PV GreenCard installers who want to expand into the C&I sector
• PV designers working on commercial and industrial systems

The exam assesses your ability to:

• Analyse commercial energy requirements
• Size commercial PV systems
• Select modules, inverters and other system components
• Design PV arrays and string configurations
• Optimise DC/AC ratios
• Produce roof layouts and single-line diagrams
• Evaluate shading and system performance
• Apply commercial PV design best practice

Participants must have completed the 3-day Commercial PV Design course before registering for this certification exam.

Successful candidates receive a Certificate of Achievement jointly issued by GREEN Solar Academy and the German Solar Energy Society (DGS e.V.), certifying them as GREEN Certified C&I PV Designers.
