Our 5-day package is designed for experienced installers preparing for the SAPVIA PV GreenCard Assessment. Over 3 days, you’ll cover essential solar theory, ensuring you’re up to date with the latest standards. The final 2 days are dedicated to the assessment. This course ensures you’re prepared and working according to the manual.

  • Safety: Toolbox talk and risk assessment
  • Installation planning & best practices
  • Earth bonding
  • Reading and preparing single line and wiring diagrams
  • Inverter and protection wiring according to SANS 10142-1
  • PV system inspection testing

  • Introduction & Explanation of Assessment Process
  • Theoretical Assessment (exam in the classroom)
  • Familiarisation workshop and induction

  • Random selection of installation teams (up to 5 members per team)
  • Practical examination on installation and wiring of a grid-tied PV system on assessment roofs

I attended the super solar school, it was a great and informative experience. Best Training Course i have ever attended, best value for money. Course content, notes information and data sheets was so real time up to date and informative, Lectures and Facilitators was world class with no time wasted. Great Training institution with well knowledgeable Trainers. The course was worth every minute spent both in class and the workshop.Learnt a lot within the Super Solar School and it opened up my eyes to how PV installations should be done following all the relevant legislations.Would recommend it to anyone who would like to either up skill themselves or venture into the PV world.

All brands and companies that we work with support our mission to provide excellent education and help us by equipping the solar components used in our trainings. Where does the training & assessment take place?

We have academies in five South African locations and include a strong focus on practical application in all trainings, which is possible due to our specially-built mock roofs for installation training. The PV GreenCard Turbo course is currently available in Jo’burg, Cape Town and Ballito. Take a tour of our venues here.

What course should I do next?

We recommend the 1-day advanced Compliance for PV Systems course which allows you to commission PV systems with confidence!

The training focuses on electrical standards relevant to PV installations.You will be thoroughly versed in the test procedures involved in the commissioning process, particularly on the DC side and load side of the installation, and will understand how to fill in a test report (supervised by an electrician). Don’t make expensive mistakes – reduce your liability and sign off safer systems.

This training is suitable for certified electricians, Pr Engineers, municipality inspectors for PV systems and advanced solar installers who want to be able to advise electricians and check compliance.
