PV Installer Assistant
The aim of the PV Installer Assistant course is to train the workforce needed to successfully implement a just energy transition in South Africa by empowering individuals with the knowledge and skills they need to succeed in the growing field of solar energy.
This 12-month upskilling program consists of three phases totalling 2 533 teaching units:
Phase 1: 8-week PV & life skills training program. 320 teaching units.
Phase 2: Candidates embark on 10-month industry-related internship. 2 133 teaching units.
Phase 3: Recap and Final Assessment. 80 teaching units.
Accreditation: All training content used in the course is based on DGS- and SAIEE-accredited GREEN Solar Academy courses.
On completion of this training, participants will be qualified as PV Installer Assistants and be able to do the following:
• PV Installation or module mounting
• Technical Support/O&M
• Basic system design
• Admin, Sales & Marketing
